A couple more:
"Instead of holding on to the Biblical view that we are made in the image of God, we come to realize that we are made in the image of the monkey..." ~ Lin Yutang

"Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. I like "That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger" and "It is always darkest before the dawn" and "A rut is a grave with the ends kicked out" and I don't know who said any of them. I also like "People won't remember what you said to them, but they'll always remember how you made them feel."

Words to live by. Thanks for giving me a few quotes to add to my growing collection of post-its.
