Superpower Equilibrium Dilemma

What if you had the incredible ability of telepathy? You could hear the private thoughts of others. You could know what anybody in the world was thinking just by focusing on that person who was in your proximity.

What if this power was caused by a grossest deformity that was visible on your body. Like extensive pussing boils on your face or extreme obesity? If you get rid of the deformity you lose your powers.

You would be able to hear every private cut people would make in their head at your expense as well as everything else they thought.

Would this be a gift or a living nightmare?

Would you cure the deformity?

Heqarign others thoughts is not worth it, after all all we really want to know is if we can bed her, right? ;o) The boils kills that possibility.

I'd keep it long enough to know who my friends were.

I think that would be a nightmare. I probably don't want to know what other people really think of me! It's like that movie, what women want!

I would never want to hear what people are thinking. ESPECIALLY with a deformity.

What kind of a cruel fate would that be?

I really don't want to know what someone is actually thinking. That takes all of the fun out of guessing and thinking about it. Plus I prefer to live in a fantasy life where I choose to believe that people who associate with me are well-meaning.

I think you'd start to care so much more what others think and change your behavior to fit their reactions. It's not healthy to live your life that way.

And, probably, many of their thoughts would be about how gross your boils are.

No way-even without the threat of being disfigured and gross-now way. I'll continue living in blissful ignorance of what people think of me, thankyouverymuch! :)

Nah, get rid of it. I am thinking about this from the perspective of the person having their thoughts read. My thoughts are my own and I don't want someone reading them.

I'd cure the deformity. In a heart beat.

There's a lot to be said of ignorance.

Ick. No way. That would burst the reality that I know is Robin's World.

You can already approximate this feeling simply by tuning in more to what other people are saying In your presence - to really try to figure out what they are actually meaning ...
