Theresa you get the only points of the day you are correct they are the colors of visible light in the rainbow in order of longest wave length to shortest.
Red, Orange, Yellow, green, Blue, Indigo, Violet.
the other five.......
1 - The great lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie, Ontario
2 - The order of the planets from closest to the sun to the furthest. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and well if you still count it Pluto
3 - The number of letters in each word corresponds to the first 15 digits of (pi) which are 3.14159265358979
4 - Strings on a Guitar from high to low E, B, G, D, A, E
5 - With the exception of the small words every word is an exception to the I before e except after c rule in modern English.

I didn't know ANY of those.
I knew the colors as:
ROY G BIV
but nothing else.
for #1 we just used the word HOMES
for #2 we used "my very eager mother just served us nine pizzas"
the other three I didn't know.
You forgot the device for the organization of organic matter. That would be a nice addition. :)
