Prediction #123429 Wal-Mart Invents the Shopping Mall Again

Mighty Morphing Wal-Mart

Imagine this you walk into a Wal-Mart Super Store. You see a food court, eye doctor, pharmacy, grocery store, clothes, auto parts, toys, etc. Now imagine that Wal-Mart outsources each of these areas to the lowest bidder so you have several separate owners under one roof with Wal-marts only function to manage space. Wal-Mart has just reinvented the shopping mall.

They have streamlined your purchasing decisions, limited your variety, crushed competition and lowered prices and expectations...

Isn't that what we currently have at Wal-Mart? The only difference being that each item for sale is manufactured by someone different.

I hate Wal-Mart for totally different and personal reasons....but hey to each his own!

Have you visited a Wal-Mart in SC? That's almost exactly how ours looks. There's a bank, a photography studio, McDonalds, a hair salon, and an eye doctor. Oh yea, and the auto garage. It's insane.

Fred Meyer's on the West Coast (Washinton, Oregon, and Cali - I think) is almost like Wal-Mart but it's the expensive version. I always went there and never stepped foot in a Wal-Mart until I was 19 and living on my own in Chicago. It's amazing what lower price will do!
