In going through a stack of holiday cards I received in the mail I noticed an interesting correlation. The name of the sender was on average 1.5 times bigger then the name of the addressee. This mean was actually weighted down by the amount of cards that were typed and therefor reached parity.
For example
To Brian <- addressee
rjhsdflkjhgesrolhsjhkfksjd
Love,
WILMA <-sender
I wonder what it means? Is it that they want to call attention to themselves instead of you through this token? Maybe I am just paranoid?
Anyways just an interesting observation....Do you notice the same?

I find it the same on my end. I think people are so damned proud of their cards that they want to make damn sure you know who gave it to you. The way I see it, they should sign their name in accoradance to the amount of cash they have included in the card.... for example:
$5 gets you a fairly small font and a fat check for a hundred should allow you to write your name as big as you fucking want. This way, you know whether or not you should even bother opening it. Tiny names can be discarded to the trash and not stressed out over.
You see what I'm sayin'?
I think it's just because people want to make sure you know who the card is from and so you could remember it was from them.
I think it might just be some kind of weird thing that people just do to you - you know to give you good blogging material.... all of my cards had matching sizes of addressees and senders - but now I'm wondering what it means that I didn't write anyone's names on their cards - just the envelopes (actually I think it just means that I'm lazy and I let the computer do the work for me - who the hell has time to write out messages to everyone and sign each card all large and self importantly anyways?!)

good observation. I noticed exactly the same thing. I used pre-printed address labels, but even on those my name was bigger and in bold all caps, no less!
It's an older movie, someone tries to steal a bunch of money from some producers or rich guys house and it goes bad, murder etc.. it is set in the 70's or 80's I think.
