This Little Light of Mine.

As opposed as I am to Christmas I have to admit I like Christmas lights.

Especially this year.

With all of the shit going on, the lay-offs, the foreclosures, the suffering, the war, the news.

There they are.

Twinkling.

A revolution of light.

A spirit that will not be crushed.

A beacon in the darkness illuminating something far beyond any door step or awning.

It is a refusal to surrender.

A refusal to succumb to the negativity that floods the air waves.

A sign off hope in place by all accounts where there should be none.

A simple walk down a simple Minneapolis street and I could start to feel it again.

Inspiration.

Hope.

And a surge of energetic power recharging this little light of mine.

Agree 100%. We obviously don't do a Christmas tree (even though it is a pagan symbol that Christains stole), we do do solstice lights on the house and inside the house as they bring a sense of festivus to the holidays.

First, I like this post.

2nd, I think it's funny that the other night I was putting up lights and I got badly shocked by them, and they quit working.

I have no lights! And I need some hope! :)

There is something about those tiny lights all together that make a pretty and bright picture.

I think light is the true meaning of "Christmas" anyways... it's not jesus or money or materialism - we all just needed a celebration in the middle of the worst time of year to keep us going :) (Funny - cuz I was jut having this conversation with my son the other day)
Enjoy the season Bri Guy!!! And thanks for recharging our little lights with your entertaining blogs :)

I also agree. I'm lucky to drive past some awesome displays on my way home from work everyday
