Grills, Teeth, Confidence Indicators and New Friends

I wonder if there is anyone who is so confident that they actually go the other way and create an invisaline to mess their teeth up. Maybe gaps or cultivated buck teeth will be the new trends in the body modification movement. Rusty Crusty Jagged Grills.

I work with a man who is forty years old who just got metal braces...I didn't even know they still made those?? I am all for improving yourself but I just can not take him seriously. He looks ridiculous.

After a few comments like..

"Can someone give me input who doesn't look like a 13 year old with metal braces"

or

"Who designed your grill? Is that a Nelly original?"

I realized that he is supremely confident in himself, marches to his own drum, is taking the action to improve himself, doesn't care what other people think and was extremely witty with his come backs. Everything I admire in a person. I took him out after work and bought him and his braces a drink.

It's all about symetry and perfection. Yeah, why didn't he go for the clear ones, at least then people just think, "What the hell does that guy have on his teeth".

I had to use invisaligns between the time I got my metal braces off and when I had my wisdom teeth out. I hated them worse than the metal braces because I was constantly forgetting to put them back in after eating and spoke with a lisp when I wore them. Good times, especially when you're a freshman in college. At least my teeth are still straight...

Are they gold or just the cheap metal?

He is trying to save money!!!

I am over 40 and just had metal braces put on my bottom teeth! They are much faster than invisilign. But they wouldn't allow me to chew, so they took them off and now just have a retainer. Old people want straight teeth too! ha

Invisalign isn't always covered by insurance, I don't think. I don't think I would even notice the braces. I never seem to notice them on kids....

That's cool -- I'm telling you, I need braces, but can't bring myself to do it. Too much pain, too much work. But I admire your friend who doesn't care what other people think.

That's me in 20yrs...I really don't give rat's arse on others thoughts of me...and that's the good think of your friend. If he's happy, that's all I think matters. I met and known so many different people who sing their own tunes, I don't even question anyone on anything lately.

A woman I work with just got them too. She can't talk. Her lips are all cut up. She can't eat. Her 6th daughter got them too. Not the kind of mother/daughter bonding I'd be going for...

What the hell is invisilign??

I had metal braces when I was thirteen. I hated them with a passion..

Some people can't afford braces when they need them, simple as that. My mother got hers at 35 and didn't wear them for very long. It was a huge confidence boost for her because afterwards she could smile and not be afraid of looking unattractive.

I have no idea how much invisiline costs but the metal ones worked for me (both times I wore them) and they worked for her and it didn't break the bank.

I intend to get braces again when my youngest kid gets them. I do not care how they will make me look, but I realize it will be something of a drag to keep them clean. Huh.
