Otherwise Stay Dead....Please

If man is the highest creation of an intelligent designer then I say that he didn't aim very high and settled for very little. I suspect that if we do find evidence of God on a sub-atomic level it will be accompanied with traces of duck tape, spilled whiskey and microscopic cigarette butts where in a drunken bout of creation he said, "fuck it, good enough".

I have a very hard time around holidays. Coming from a fairly religious family and being flanked by others around me with religious back grounds, I have a hard time abstaining and withdrawing from religious festivities that I just don't support without seeming like a prick.

"Come on just go for me." "It is not about Jesus it is about family." "Everybody goes to church on Easter" ....I actually busted out the Saturday afternoon logic of, "if all your friends where jumping off of a bridge would you?"

I have a hard time with how to take a stand but I fear if I don't that we will not be able to stop the dogma that is controlling our policy in this country and millions of people will continue to suffer as a result.

Why can't we just celebrate the coming of Spring with great feast, friends and family. Isn't the shedding of coats, the return to the out doors, the trees awakening and flowers rising from the soil enough to wonder and marvel at. The mystery of life and its beauty isn't diminished by our understanding of it, only enhanced.

If you really want to witness rebirth and a true resurrection let the world grow up free to think for themselves, in a time and place where we understand there is enough wonder and mystery to explore without inventing more.

Until then I am writing to you as an exiled American Aethist deep in America,

Brian

I LOVE Easter. It's my favorite holiday. Favoriite.

That being said, it's not about family. Thanksgiving is about family (Hate).

Easter pisses me off as well (what the fuck does Jesus have to do with rabbits and eggs and Peeps)?

 I love it, LOL.

“"It is not about Jesus it is about family."”
----If it is just about family, then keep Hesus out of it.

“Until then I am writing to you as an exiled American Atheist deep in America,”
--- it is not easy being a non-believer in Jesusland, that is for sure. Don’t drink the cool aid.

We can. And indeed, this is what I think of when I think of Easter, and this is why it's one of my favorite holidays.

It's a different kind of re-birth...the earth, the air...flowers...SPRING!

And also-you are 29. You are allowed to make your own decisions on what you believe and where you go to express that belief. You are worth it. You mean enough to this world to be able to make your own choice.

No matter who thinks you should go to mass...

I am really conflicted if I should even allow anonymous posts on here. I appreaciate that the subject matter is sometimes to hot to handle for some and want to give eveyone who wants to weigh in a chance but at the same time it just seems so cowardish to throw pot shots from the safety of ananimity(sp)

Maybe when I come back from my travels this weekend I will block anonymous comments so live it up until then....they seem to just irratate me latley...you know who I am so why do you hide if your convictions are so strong?

I thought I was the only one who didn't go to church on Easter, Christmas, all the other stupid holidays. If I believe in God or not it doesn't mean that I have to "go to church". I think holidays these days are a great way for the retail community to get us underpaid working people to go out and buy our kids more useless junk that they don't really need. It's not really about God, Jesus, it's about what else you can buy your kid(s). Christmas- presents, Halloween - expensive costumes and candy, Easter- Expesive outfits and a basket full of junk and candy... I mean come on. Don't get me wrong- I have my beliefs but I think these days people are going a little overboard. I love spending time with my family but without all the religous crap. I'm happy that religion hasn't been pushed on me by my family. With that said- everyone have a GREAT HAPPY EASTER! :)

I agree about all of this!!!!

And Anonymous can suck a fart out of my asshole, the pussy. If I'm making ignorant and rude comments to people just to be a dick, I like to use my name. If I can't stand behind my beliefs and comments, then they don't matter anyway.

Perhaps if he/she had used his/her name, we could have had an intelligent conversation about this. But, since he/she hid behind an anonymous title, I'll just point out the obvious and call him/her a spineless loser and invite the person to eat some shit.

And.... Mags is, indeed, quite hot.

Wad up man....

I love my classic deviled eggs. Nothing bad about the religion, blame the followers...

"anonymous posts' are from rats who have no dignity to even show their blogs....just ignore..
