I would like to propose a change to the current term limits of all political sections of governments.
New Term: 1 Term for 10 Years (That is it)
Reason why I think this would be better.
1.) Could face on longer term problems.
2.) Since reelection would not be an issue special interest money and promises made to get re-elected would be curbed some what.
3.) No career politicians
4.) Since reelection would not matter unpopular but necessary actions could be taken for the benefit of the country.
5.) Save money by cutting the amount of elections and campaigns for election in half.

And people would take more an interest, due to the long-term negative implications of electing someone for 10 years.
I guess that would be the drawback--that while someone could do a lot of good, they could also do a lot of damage if they're not held to the necessity of reelection.
I woudl make the term 6 years.
I agree that the term should be longer-I am not sure 10 years is the magic number though. But longer for sure.
i am not going to debate the merits of the various potential lengths but i agree that a single term is a fabulous idea.
If we're sticking to one term, why not make it expire on an odd number, like 7?
And will we be electing everyone new every 10 years, or would you do it on a rotating schedule? I.e. House of Reps in 2008 and 2018, Senate in 2012 and 2022, etc.?
I like the idea about terms expiring in odd years but 10 years is a bit much. WOuld you really want the exact same crap for 10 years straight? I'm all for no career politicians too because they do little more than line their pockets from donors while bilking you and me.
