The Solution to Deception is to be Pessimistic

The following is a Brian Johnson said it first quote all rights reserved...lol

"The Solution to Deception is to be Pessimistic.
I am not really sure what optimism is the solution for?" -Brian Johnson 1977 -

At first I thought this was odd.... of the follow two types of people which one do you loath more?

The wolf in sheep's clothing? (Bad guy pretending to be good)

The sheep in wolf's clothing? (Good guy pretending to be tough)

They are both deceiving. They are both trying to be something they are not. But the wolf in sheep's clothing I.e. the bad guy pretending to the good guy is the one people get the most pissesd over because this is the one that slips through the radar detector of pessimism. The second one people actually like in the end after they get through the hard exterior they find this wonderful person on the inside.

I really want to call out a blog on here that I know to be total bullshit that somehow is somehow wildly popular. I guess you can never underestimate the power of denial.

But at the risk of becoming something I loathe even more (Cock blocker) I am going to just leave everyone with the following refreshers.

1.) If something seems to be too good to be true it probably is.

2.) Men can pretend to be sweet, vulnerable and wounded when it is too their advantage.

3.) If something doesn't add up check your math and then your data.

I'm not sure--I'd rather be disappointed or deceived than turn into a cynical bitch. :)

If someone takes advantage of that, they're the bad guy, not me. Besides, I thought most women like the bad boys?

Hey who says pessimistic leads to being a cynical bitch? I say repeatedly getting fucked over leads women to become cynical bitches:)

I agree with number two in theory but I can't accept it in practice because it pushes my destiny and feelings into someone elses control.

But I agree girls like bad boys;)

Pessimists are never disappointed, that is the joy in pessimism.

There are certainly times when pessimism is good, like when you're interviewing for a job. But you can't go into the interview believing you won't get it. Generally that means the outcome is not as positive.

I'm not a "Secret" reader, but I think being optimistic tends to draw people to you more than being pessimistic. And I've been both.

Well, I don't like to be deceived by anyone, but I think the "wolf in sheep's clothing" pisses me off the most because it makes ME feel like an idiot. Like, "How could I be so deceived?"

One of those scenarios has a good ending and the other typically ends in one person getting angry. I rather have a good guy pretending to be tough - and I want you to call out a blog!

Do it!

Very thought provoking... I love both kinds as they both teach me more about myself.

Please call out the blog.

Maybe if you email me. I have already started enough shit with this guy to fan this too much higher

Well...I passed pesimism and crossed into cynical a LONG time ago. It keeps me pretty protected but I do miss being optimistic sometimes.

Realists never really get disappointed either. I think we're on the same wave lengths on some level. LOL

Oh, about the wounded man thing, the next one that plays that to his advantage is getting kicked while he's down. I am SOOOO done with that!

I prefer the good guy that pretends to be tough. Like you said, once you unwrap the hardshell, it's a pleasant suprise..and I really like those.

Ok-majorly curious as to who you think is a dick weed. Please share-even if it's via email!!!!

It's Rocket, isn't it. ;)

I'm an optomist on the outside but inside, I have reasonable and realistic doubt.
