This Dream

Last night somewhere in my slumber I entered a house. It was a house that I knew. It was my grandparents house on lake Florida in Minnesota and there were a ton of people there and we were all talking and laughing and carrying on. After a while my Dad came in and told us it was time for bed and eight of us went into the back room and were laughing after lights out and playing like we were kids. As I laid in the bunk bed in my dream I began to realize that everyone that was in that house was someone I knew who had died. I started to yell to my friends and ask them if I was dead too but they just rolled over and disappeared. I ran to the garage to try to stop my dad from getting in the car and leaving, but he had already left and I knew I would never see him again.

I was alone in the house not sure if I was dead or alive. I walked out to the door and saw two figures down by the lake. I walked down the hill to greet them by the lake. The lawn wasn't grass but millions of garter snakes that moved over my bare feet. When I came up to them they were standing shoulder to shoulder in black robes and they parted so I could come between them. I couldn't see their faces but I could smell them and it was familiar. They didn't talk, they just pointed to the lake and I bend over and peered in. I don't remember exactly what I saw but I bolted awake in real life both sweating and with the chills.

And I had this feeling in my heart that someone I know is going to die.

Oh...I feel horrible for you today. I know exactly the feeling you have after that dream, and it haunts me until something else comes into my head, my heart.

I hope that you aren't someone who dreams things before they happen...good vibes being sent your way from CT today.

death in dreams most of the time doesn't mean actual death... often times it just means one chapert's ending and another's beginning - I hope that's what it means for you today BriGuy - change can be scary like death sometimes, but the cycle keeps continuing and all will be as it should.... Will I see you this Friday @ Chino for birthday funs - I hope?

I agree with ma, death dreams typically have more to with internal states than external reality. But I'm sorry to hear of it all the same :(

I think it's a transition period for you likely. The rebirthing lets say of something about to happen in your life. You may fear it is bound to be bad but because it was so welcoming, it will only be good :)
Otherwise, is there someone or something you are working to kill off without intentionally realizing it?

Wow! You describe your dream SO vividly. I rarely remember my dreams. This one obviously left you a little shaken.

Oh, man. Those dreams are the WORST. Chalk it up to subconcious worries and not a premonition.

Remember, all these are is our brains Defragmenting all of the information that we have taken in that day and playing a movie to keep us busy.

Wow, that's creepy. I'm sorry for the nightmare, I hate those. Rocket is right though, it's just fragments of the information we've taken in or thought about. I had a wicked dream that was real like that about a week ago..shitty feelilng when you wake up, I know. Hope your day gets better!
